Hourglass Skills
Proven business skills in your AI app, plus the tools to make your own and share them with your team.
What it is
Hourglass Skills is a remote MCP server run by Hourglass AI. Once connected, your AI app can run the skills in your workspace: written step-by-step methods for jobs like a competitor funnel teardown or turning a rough idea into a brief. Each skill is a tool, so you ask in plain words and the app runs the right one.
You can also turn a task you just did into a new skill, improve skills, and share them with your team. Sharing goes through an approval step, so nothing reaches everyone without a person saying yes. You can manage the same library on the web at skills.thehourglass.ai.
Connect it
Pick your AI app below and follow its steps. In Claude it is one button: confirm, then sign in with your Google or Microsoft work account. Your first sign-in creates a free workspace with the Hourglass library already in it. The skills page has the same steps.
Server URL: https://mcp.thehourglass.ai/mcp. Sign-in uses OAuth, so you never paste a key.

Claude will ask you to confirm, then sign in with your work email.

What it can do
Run a skill
Every skill in your library is its own tool. Ask for the job in your own words and your AI app picks the matching skill, then follows its steps.
One tool per skill, for example funnel-teardown, interview-me and hourglass-getting-started
Find skills
See your workspace, list or search the skills you can use, and get suggestions based on what your team uses.
my_workspace · my_inbox · list_skills · search_skills · recommend_skills
Make and improve skills
Turn a task you just did into a new skill, suggest an edit to an existing one, make your own version, attach files, or roll back to an earlier version.
import_skill · request_skill_changes · create_skill_fork · copy_skill · attach_skill_resources · rollback_skill_version
Share with your team
Share a skill with a team or the whole company, join a team, and approve or decline sharing requests. Shared skills are reviewed before they reach everyone.
share_imported_skill · list_teams · join_team · list_sharing_requests · approve_sharing_request
Feedback and usage
Report that a skill got something wrong, and see which skills your organisation or a team uses most. Usage is shown as totals, never per person.
report_skill_feedback · skill_usage_insights · list_skill_feedback
Admin settings
Admins publish or retire skills for everyone, create teams, set sharing rules and manage access tokens. Anyone can see these tools; they explain when you need an admin.

Things to ask
“Give me the Hourglass getting-started tour.”
Shows your workspace, explains what skills are, and walks you through running your first one.
“Run a funnel teardown on acme.com.”
Researches how Acme wins customers from public sources and returns a funnel map, sources and a ranked list of what to copy.
“Show my skills usage.”
Lists the skills your organisation runs most, with totals by skill.
“Turn what we just did into a skill and share it with my team.”
Drafts a skill from the conversation, saves it to your library, and sends it to your team for approval.

If something goes wrong
- Your AI app says it cannot connect
- Remove the connector, add it again with the server URL, and sign in when asked. Sign in with the same Google or Microsoft account each time so you land in the same workspace.
- A skill you expect is missing
- Ask “list my skills”. If it is not there, it may not be shared with you yet: ask the person who made it, or ask an admin to share it with your team.
- Your app picks the wrong skill
- Name the skill in your request, for example “use my funnel-teardown skill”.
- A skill did something wrong
- Say “report feedback on this skill” and describe what happened. The skill's owner sees it and can fix it.
